Nerd- I wore this costume in the fifth grade and won the costume contest. I got big glasses and put a piece
of tape in the middle. I wore mis- matched colored clothing (ie. green shirt, too short pink pants, red belt over shirt).
I wore really high socks. I taped a piece of toilet paper onto the bottom of my shoe. And best of all, I wore a
KICK ME! sign on my back! It was annoying though because all day people were asking if they could kick me!- sent in by Rachel

Longstockings rules!- To add to all the other people who had this same costume idea, my mom flattened a hanger
and adjusted the middle so that it almost looked like there was a hanger through my head...then she braided my hair
around the hanger (and covered the hanger with my hair) then she sprayed my hair red and I wore a really old dress and

Cowboy Vampire Jerico Cross Note: This is a cost- Wear all black clothes for the body, black boots and those
things that jingle when you walk, black cowboy hat, black coat, toy revolver guns add a plastic/fake blade at the end of it,
black holster to hold the gun/guns, vampire teeth, and a black eye patch or not or a red light that can be put over the eye

Miss A-scare-ica- Wear fishnet stockings, lots of dark makeup, and a short black dress. Than cut out a

Zombie Cheerleader- Wear a cheerleader outfit or wear a short skirt and belly shirt or tube top. Put your hair
up using a hairtie, then tie a ribbon that has the same colors as the outfit around the hairtie. Put a white cream or
powder on your face then using black or dark blue makeup (eyeshadow,face paint, blush, etc.) put dark circles around
your eyes to make it look like you haven't gotten any sleep in 3 years. If you want you can use pom-poms also.

Cheap-to-make Goth- Take a skirt, shirt, and hat (any color) and use black duck tape and wrap it all the
way around the skirt shirt and hat separately so it looks like a black and shiny outfit. Then find white cream or powder
and spread it on your face. Put black lipstick on your lips and find black mascara and eye shadow and put that on too.
Get a black wig if you want and oh yeah put sparkles on your face too. There you go and easy and oh so cheap to make
goth for halloween. But remember to put something bright on you somewhere too so people can see you or take a

80's Chick- An 80's chick likes bright pink lipstick with blue eyeshadow and a side ponytail. A shoulder
sweater and different matching socks. A jean skirt up high.- sent in by Jaimee
Cookie- This costume can be done many ways: Take 2 large pieces of cardboard and cut into matching circles,
attach 2 straps of fabric to them so they will sit on your shoulders. To be a chocolate chip cookie, wear tan sweats,
use tan fabric to attach the circles together and glue black felt or paper to the "cookie" for chips. If you'd like
to be a cream filled cookie like an oreo spray the cardboard circles black, wear white sweats, and use white fabric to
attach the circles together. You can make your filling any color... be creative. I sent my daughters as cookies and

Milk- This is the perfect accessory to the cookie costume! Take 2 or 3 (or more depending on how tall you are)
small hula hoops. Cut string about a foot long about 8 pieces and tie the hula hoops together so that if you were
holding one they would form a cylinder hanging down. Next take a white or brown/black sheet (depending on white or
chocolate milk) and drape over hula hoops. Cut holes for head and arms. Sew or pin the bottom of the sheet around the
last hula hoop so it doesn't look messy at the bottom. Wear white tights, or socks and shoes, and white turtleneck
(or brown/black for chocolate). Next take a paper towel roll make two slits in either side close to the bottom of the
roll, so it will sit flat on head. Paint or color this roll in stripes or a solid color, slide a headband through the
slits. Place on top of head for a straw. Now for my daughter I made a black sack for her candy that said "Got Milk" in
white lettering. They looked absolutely adorable as cookies and milk, and got so many awesome compliments! - sent in by Erin
Cereal Killer- Take a bunch of cereal boxes- put them on your shirt with hot glue or tape. Cut slits in the
front of the box and put rubber knifes in the front with some more hot glue. Then put red dye or imitation blood dripping

Zombie Bride- What you will need: White eyeshadow or face paint, Dark black and grey eyeshadow or face paint,
dark or red lipstick, fake blood(optional), an old wedding dress, flour or baby powder---Start with an old or play
wedding dress (easily found at a Walmart or a thrift store). Shred the edges and dirty them with a bit of the dark
eyeshadow. Paint or powder your face white- (I've found that powder looks better)- take the dark eyeshadow and make a
full oval around your eye and under your cheeks. Blend it with a makeup blender or your finger. Apply dark lipstick.
If you want, add streaks of fake blood from your hairline or mouth. Then, sprinkle powder on your hair for a dusty

Leaf Blower- Take a baseball cap and a piece of string. Tie a leaf so that it hangs down in your face. When

Dalmatians- When I was 4 my parents decided we should join the group category for the costume contest.
We rounded up another family to join us and we all wore white turtlenecks w/ white leggings. Then my folks cut out
spots using black paper and stuck it all over our white outfits. We wore pigtails and used black non-toxic make-up f
or a black spot on our faces. Of course we won the group category! For trick or treats we had "leashes" tied on

Headless Ghost- Take two wire Hangers and fasten them together with tape or string so that they form
almost the shape of shoulders when being held upside down. Attach them to your back at your natural shoulder length
so that they appear to extend the height of your shoulders about 4 inches. Now Take a black ghoul mask that
blacks out the wearers face, put it on followed by an oversized button up shirt. Hunch forward and with your face
covered by the see through mask look through the collar of the shirt. Top it off by carrying a battery powered light
up Pumpkin to double as your pumkin head.-Christopher

Black Eyed Pea- Get some black paint, a black sweatshirt and white tape. On your face paint a black eye on
one of your eyes and then use the tape to write out a letter "P" on your sweatshirt.- Mandy
Cute Trendy Fairy- It's a good Halloween idea for Trendy Teens! First you need a skirt, preferably cordoroy,
(anything but jean), something simple. And a plain tight white shirt. Wings, preferably a light color, like pink, or
light purple. And stockings, or knee-highs that match. If you can't find knee-highs with a little bow on the top of them,
make them yourself with ribbon and glue it. Regular white sneakers will do it. If you want to go all out, find some cute
earrings that match the wings and the stockings (or makeup). For makeup (this is just an idea) you could go light on
the lipgloss, and for the eyeshadow- find some that matches your outfit, try some other colors - like if you have
pink stockings and wings, try to get maybe a light purple eyeshadow- fading it will be a cute touch, going dark,
then lighter at the top. And maybe some rhinestones on your face coming off your eye would be very cute. A hair idea,
to go along with the cuteness of this costume- wear your hair half up, half down. Flip the loose hair out, Mrs. Brady

Hippo- Purple sheet, with an elastic around your neck, then find a water tube that is blue or paint one blue.
Then poke holes in the purple sheet where the eyes are and mouth if necessary. Last make sure that you wear purple or

Post-It Note- Get cardboard and color it your favorite color post it note!!! Then put a sting thourgh it

Peanut Butter and Jelly- Well if you have two BFF or sisters you can have one be peanut butter and one be jelly,
you just need some cardboard, brown and red colored markers, scissors and glue, some colored papper and peanut butter and
Jelly. First you make the cardboardand- make it into a circular shape, you do that to both peanut butter and Jelly.
Then you take the construction papper and color the constuction paper so it says peanut butter and the other one says
Jelly, then you take the markers and color it in, then you glue it onto the cardboard then, once it dries you cut
circles in it for the neck and legs then with the peanut butter and jelly you add some of the real stuff onto
the peanut butter and jelly costume!- Emily
Spiderella- Black, orange or purple cape with spider web design (opional)- pop the collar and have a belt or

Make your own Witch Wig- You can make this by using a bandana, yarn (any color), and a gluegun. First, cut
strings of yarn long enough to cover the tips of your hair. Then, put on the bandana and tie it up. This will
measure your head so it fits. Then, carefully slip it off without untying it. Heat up the glue until it is ready to use.
Carefully glue the tips of yarn on the inside of your bandana.You may need an adults help for this. Make sure you don't
glue any yarn in the front of the bandana or it will cover your view. You can cover the top of the bandana by
wearing a witch's hat.- Cara
Pile of Leaves- Great for small babies, toddlers. Take footie pj's and cover them with fake leaves from
craft store, I sewed about 100 on them. Took beanie and covered that also. Take regular wagon and pillows so
baby will be comfortable and place baby in wagon and surround baby with a few more strands of leaves. (you can leave
the leaves on those strands)-- stick a small rake out of the other end and pull them around the neighborhood.
They stay cozy and warm and you dont have to carry them. Big hit!- Christina
Frankenstein- Take bottom quarter of gallon milk jug, paint it green, cover with black felt or fuzzy material
as hair, paint scar on forehead. Wear black sweats and green turtleneck. Glue a few patches on pants. Take brown
grocery bag or piece of felt, cut zigzag across bottom and two holes for arms, make vest- put same patches on vest.
Paint two long tissue boxes black and put them over shoes, (I did a crisscross over top with silver duct tape to make
them look more industrial and glue 2 toy screws to turtle neck, black finger nail polish and your on your way!- Christina
Freaky Person- Wear all black and let your hair hang down loose and mess it up a little bit. Take face
paint and add dark circles around your eyes, blood from your lips ect. Take a mask (one of those cat eye sequined ones,
you might be able to find a cheap one at a costume store)and make a trace of it on cardboard. Cut out the trace and
glue it to the back of the mask (this is just to reenforce the mask) then glue it to a skewer.- Shanna

Teen Cowgirl- First off you don't have to buy anything if you have these simple items at home. You can wear
tight bluejeans or a jean miniskirt. Then wear any kind of tank top or shirt underneath, then put on a striped or
plain button down shirt. Leave the button down shirt open and then tie it above your stomach. Finish it off with
braided piggy-tails, a cowboy hat and boots!- Bri
Girl Hippy- It's easiest to make a poncho with tie-dyed material. Get an old pair of black pants or jeans
and write all over them with permanent marker or glitter glues. Straighten your hair or get a long straght wig and
tie a bandana around your head. {it would be cute if bandana and poncho were same material} Top it off with some
cool coloured shades and some funky peace signs face painted on!- Rachel
Walmart Smilie- Use yellow pants and get an m&m costume and paint it yellow. Then draw a big smile and

Seal- Get a grey sweater and some felt and yarn. Make eyes and a nose with felt and glue them to the hood.
Make whiskers with yarn and glue them to the hood too. Now you are a seal. (you can also make a penguin or anything

Salt and Pepper Shakers- My friend and I were these last year, and they're really fun! You get a trash
can and for salt paint a black "S", and for pepper paint the whole thing black, and give it a white "P." Then get

Radical Hummer Car- Looking like a hummer car with cut out windows and has a licenseplate and lights

Fantanas- Get together with a group of four. You have to look up the different fantana colors. Then wear a
short tight mini skirt, and a belly shirt, or any shirt in the color you are. For shoes, if possible, wear white boots.
Wear a wig in the color you are or the color hair the fantana has. To top it off, wear a cute headband in the color.- Laura
Clock- First get a large cardboard box and make a slot for your arms, legs and head...then paint it any

Sheet Music- You take a flat white bed sheet, fold in half and cut out a circle for your head.
Then paint or draw on a piece or pieces of music and BAM your a piece of "sheet" music!!!- Barbie
Wizard- 1st-take a large piece of blue satin and decorate (stars, planets,etc.) with glitterglue or
glitter and glue --2nd- give child white wig and do eyebrows with white and silver face paint.--3rd- 2 words BIG HAT
